Hostgator is arguably the most well-known hosting service that’s currently out there. Providing 99.9% uptime, 24/7/365 technical support and an amazing control panel they definitely aren’t messing about! They of course offer a website builder solution which is integrated into their control panel – the main reason why Hostgator features on our review site.
Starting at $3.95/month it isn’t the cheapest (BlueHost and eHost both cost less) but it’s what you get for your money, right? You get 1 domain name, unlimited website pages, unmetered storage and bandwidth and more! We can’t help feel that these features are almost identical to eHost, so is it worth spending the extra money?
With every hosting package you get free access to the gorgeous Weebly website builder and tools. Weebly is one of the nicest website builders out there at the moment and so having the ability to have your site hosted by Hostgator and then built using Weebly’s editor is great news! But could it get a bit messy?
Hostgator advertise having over 4000 templates which sounds impressive but when compared to sitebuilder and websitebuilder, they have over 100,000! The templates also look quite dated, so it might be better to start a fresh using the Weebly builder.
Hostgator’s packages are full of features but they really try and polish the apple by offering $100 Google adwords and Yahoo/Bing credit with every hosting plan! Whether the average consumer would actually use this is another discussion for another day but to be fair to Hostgator their feature set is vast.
Hostgator offer ‘award-winning support’ which consists of 24/7/365 Premium support via phone, live chat, email and Server monitoring. You can also visit their online portal where you get access to over 500 video tutorials and over 600 help articles.
